Assure America Corp., which has an office in Weirton, has earned the West Virginia Gem Award from Erie Insurance.
The Gem Award recognizes the agency with the highest production based on size of all Erie agencies in the state for the 2008 annual contest period. During this same period, Assure America wrote 417 total policies, including 167 auto policies, also achieving the milestone of writing more private passenger auto policies than any other Erie agency in the nation during the contest period.
“We have an exceptional team of agents at Assure America that represent the best in the industry and they deserve the credit for this incredible achievement. The fact that we can lead the nation in auto policy production with Erie during a contest period in light of our local demographics is really a testament to the quality of our agents and Erie Insurance,” said Matthew Magnone, president of Assure America.
“What Assure America did during this contest was simply unbelievable. The numbers that they put up were astounding. However, as a credit to the agency, their numbers truly only tell half of the story. The agency is knowledgeable, well-managed and very structured. It is a very impressive organization,” said Mike Fletcher, Erie vice president in charge of West Virginia.
According to A.M. Best Co., Erie Insurance Group, based in Erie, Pa., is the 15th largest automobile insurer in the United States based on total lines net premium written. The group, rated A-plus (superior) by A.M. Best, has almost 3.8 million policies in force and operates in 11 states and the District of Columbia.
